The Northern Sporades islands - are situated in the beautiful blue Aegean sea. They consist of :-

Skiathos - This island has the airport and is normally the busiest.

Skopolos - the community center for the islands, it has 360 monasteries and nice beaches and is the largest of the 3 islands.

Alonissos - (also spelt Alonnisos) is the smallest of the three islands, it's main port is Patitiri where all the ferries, Flying Cats and Flying Dolphins berth. Alonissos has many beaches, nice tavernas and is situated within a Marine Conservation park.

You can visit the MoM center in Patitiri where information can be found on the Marine Park. It's prime objective is to protect one of the last remaining habitats of the Mediterranean Monk seal (Monachos, Monachos). There are organized trips to the Marine Park, these also visit the monastery on Kira Panagia. If you are lucky you may also see dolphins on route.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To get to Alonissos during the season (06 May to 14 Oct), arrange a flight to Skiathos from many of the UK airports (Bristol, Gatwick, Manchester etc). When you get to Skiathos, get a taxi down to the port and buy your Flying Cat, Flying Dolphin or plain ferry ticket to Alonissos (it is also possible to pre-book your tickets by visiting www.hellenicseaways.gr ). We ask you to call or text us when you know which boat you are on, we will then be waiting for you on the quay in Patitiri harbour where your holiday really begins.

When to visit depends on what you are looking for :-

May - June - Alonissos is beautiful this spring time of year, temperature is around 25 - 28 degC, the flowers and butterflies are out in abundance, it is a great time for walking. We can arrange a number of walks depending on your requirements i.e. secluded beaches, scenery or with a taverna at the end.

July - August - If you like it hot - 30-40 degC and bustling with lots going on, this is the time for you. The island is truly alive during these months with trips to the Marine Park, snorkling trips and balmy evenings sat at one of the many tavernas or bars.

September - October - once again the island is quiet with fewer guests, temperatures back to 25-28 degC, the sea is still wonderfully warm, the evenings although, are a little cooler, it is still warm enough for eating outside, again, a good time for exploring the island by foot.
